Use a Facilitator and a Personality Profile Assessment to Create an Effective, Efficient Team.
In this podcast Katie and Carol recommend the use of personality profile assessments for to make you team strong and understanding.
Tip 70. Profile your team for personality styles so that they can appreciate and understand one another by styles and not by gender.
High-performing teams have characteristics that can be replicated. One of them is an understanding of the individuality of each member beyond his or her gender, race, or age.
An additional benefit of this effort is a diffusion of gender-blaming. When people learn styles, they are less likely to label a behavior as something “that a girl does”. Instead they learn that it is the person’s behavioral trait, not a gender-trait.
Relationship-building based on style creates extremely strong interactions and a high potential of success. Yes, it takes more work, but remember your commitment to continuous improvement.
We talk a bit more about this in the blog entry Get a Personality. Read more about what to look for in teams and how to achieve a balance.
