The Herald Group, public affairs firm, adds Bill Bertles as a partner on its executive team. Bertles was previously at DDC for 25 years, most recently serving as SVP and partner. He has over three decades of experience across a broad range of industries, from energy and health care to financial services and technology. At The Herald Group, Bertles will lead the firm’s business development efforts. “His extensive experience, growth-oriented approach, and proven leadership will make Bill an invaluable asset as THG continues to add to its team of experts.,” said The Herald Group managing partner Matt Well.

Weill Cornell Medicine names Eileen Sheil assistant vice provost for communications and public affairs, effective Feb. 1. Sheil joins Weill Cornell from biotech research company Cue Heath, where she has served as chief communications officer. She was previously VP, global external communications at Medtronic and executive director, corporate communications at Cleveland Clinic. In her new role, Sheil will jointly lead the office of external affairs and oversee its more than 40-member division of communications and public affairs, which includes such functions as editorial, multimedia, media relations, social media, marketing and brand, and government and community affairs. “Eileen is an esteemed leader in strategic communications whose deep reservoir of experience in academic medicine and health care more broadly makes her perfectly suited to helm our communications and public affairs operations,” said Dr. Robert Harrington, the Stephen and Suzanne Weiss Dean of Weill Cornell Medicine and provost for medical affairs of Cornell University.

Vogel has worked with brands, nonprofits and innovative startups, including HUNGRY, the National Guard Youth Foundation and Washington Nationals. At Drumfire, she will be responsible for creating, developing and designing a wide range of content, material and services for mobile, social, and web-based applications and platforms.”
