Gail Rubin, CT, pioneering death educator, funeral expert and Celebrant.

Saturday, November 11, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. — The second annual 2017 Authors Festival at the Albuquerque Museum of Art & History showcases local writing talent. The finest of the New Mexico writers’ scene will gather at Albuquerque Museum to share their experiences, sell merchandise, and sign books for their fans. The museum is located at 2000 Mountain Road NW. The event is free.

Gail Rubin, CT, is among the authors featured in this year’s festival. She’ll have copies of A Good Goodbye: Funeral Planning for Those Who Don’t Plan to Die, Kicking the Bucket List: 100 Downsizing and Organizing Things to Do Before You Die, and Hail and Farewell: Cremation Ceremonies, Templates and Tips. She’ll also bring T-shirts that proclaim: “The one who dies with the most toys… still dies.”

The festival is partly a fundraiser for the Albuquerque Museum Foundation. For each book sold at the event, the foundation receives 40 percent of the proceeds, with 60 percent for the authors.

Whether you are a mystery addict, a hard-core sci-fi fan, or a history buff, you’ll be amazed at the diversity of writers working across a range of genres who call New Mexico home. Read this story in the Albuquerque Journal about the festival.
