Live here, Love Here- California is creating a new game plan for lifelong literacy and student graduation success.  Trauma changes life expectancy for our children and chronic diseases require new actions.  The new directions from our budget are bringing wellness to the forefront of our Public Health contribution to policy and to practice.

The California Budget 2019 is dedicated to Education and Governor Newsom's priorities and legacy will include disempowering stressors as well as building a strong start network.

Thanks to the hard work of the Child Care Law Center, parents, professionals, educators and others, California has a new opportunity to bridge past gaps no longer acceptable.  Bravo to our Senate and Assembly members and everyone working to create a smarter workforce, a tighter safety net for working parents, and options for a master plan for early childhood education.

The critical elements are screening, detection, support, and awareness.  San Francisco's medical research is now aligned to make a terrific contribution to equity, safety, savings, and opportunity in our immediate and longer term savings.  Health for all is a goal and an action plan in the new 2019 budget.
