Imam Zaid joins Dr. Khalid Blankinship in discussing the implications of the symbolism and reality of the Obama presidency for Muslims in the United States.

Zaid Shakir is a resident scholar at Zaytuna Institute in Berkeley and writes and speaks frequently about issues pertaining to Muslims and Islam.

Dr. Khalid Blankinship specializes in early Islamic history and is the director of graduate studies in the Religion Department at Temple University.
