MicroTech CEO Participates in White House Conference to the

Nations Hispanic Leaders on COVID-19

 

Friday, April 10 – Tysons, VA – Yesterday, MicroTech CEO, Tony Jimenez attended the White House Conference Call with some of the top Hispanic Leaders in the Nation regarding an update on the COVID-19 response and many of the aggressive and proactive steps the federal government is taking to address some of the key issues.

 

As a pillar in the Hispanic Community, Tony is honored to have been selected to participate in this important White House Executive briefing along with many other of the Nation's top Hispanic Leaders.  

 

The briefing was hosted by Dr. Andrea R. Ramirez, Special Assistant to the President and Director of Hispanic Engagement and Jennifer Korn, Deputy Director and Special Assistant to the President and included Dr. Jerome Adams, the 20th Surgeon General of the United States, Allen Gutierrez, Associate Administrator of the Office of Entrepreneurial Development at the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Brian Morgenstern, Deputy Assistant Secretary at U.S. Department of the Treasury and Mark Zelden, Director, Centers for Faith and Opportunity Initiative (CFOI) at the U.S. Department of Labor.

 

Dr. Adams spoke about COVID-19, the affect it has and is having on people who have chronic disease, heart disease, lung disease, and diabetes.  He also discussed how communities of color are at higher risk than the average population and the important need to continue to practice social distancing.  Mr. Gutierrez spoke about the Economic Injury Disaster Loans and other programs being offered by the SBA to help Small Businesses that have been impacted by COVID 19.  Mr. Morgenstern spoke about the Payroll Protection Program and how the Department of the Treasury had made available close to $2.3 trillion in financing to support American workers, businesses, states, counties and cities impacted by the pandemic. Mr. Zelden talked about unemployment compensation, paid leave and the other measures the Department of Labor was doing to help people affected by COVID 19.
