New consumer resources created by the American Association for Medicare Supplement Insurance made national news this week reaching millions of seniors.
"The new resources provide meaningful and timely information for seniors on Medicare," explains Jesse Slome, director of the American Association for Medicare Supplement Insurance (AAMSI). "With Medicare Annual Election Period there is always increased media interest in the topic."
The Association director noted that the resources made national news this week with reports appearing in over 100 media ranging from local television and broadcast outlets to newspapers and online resources.
"Consumers seeking information on Medicare insurance options want impartial information that can help them make better decisions," Slome adds. The Association's new resources provide an in-depth look at the Medicare.gov website.
"The government website is an incredible resource but it can be overwhelming and for many seniors a bit difficult to navigate," he notes. "Also, there are some very important points that it really doesn't explain to consumers."
In addition, the he Association has posted the 2020 Medicare Insurance Price Index. "This resource shows the lowest and highest price for Medigap Plan G in cities across the United States," Slome explains. "Consumers mistakenly believe prices for insurance are pretty much standardized but one look and you'll see that this is clearly not the case."
The American Association for Medicare Supplement Insurance makes available the only free online directory of local Medicare insurance agents. "Most offer all Medicare solutions, including Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement and Prescription Drug Plans," Slome reports.
Nearly 1,000 independent Medicare insurance agents and brokers can be found using the free public resource that can be accessed at www.medicaresupp.org/agents.
AAMSI is an advocacy and informational organization that strives to create heightened awareness for the many Medicare insurance planning options and supports insurance professionals who market Medicare insurance. To learn more or access the resources go to www.medicaresupp.org.
