International Association of Business Communicators – DC Metro Chapter has a new website.  The need for the new website followed the crash of the then current-one.  Giuseppe Laviano, Vice President – Finance,  told Capitol Communicator, that the need for the new website happened “just as our Board was considering plans for a new site that would serve as a better reflection of the IABC DC Metro chapter. The site’s crash forced us to bump up our timeline. We posted a temporary page as the leadership team and volunteers quickly put a strategy in place to replace the site.  Our team worked with Bitstorm Connect, a creative arm of Think Patented to launch the new site. Our goal was to design a member-centric site that reflects the chapter’s commitment to the diverse DMV community while contributing to the future of communications. The result is a dynamic, vibrant, and stable website that will expand with the potential for user-generated content and our continued chapter growth.”

IABC DC Metro includes professional communicators from corporations, nonprofit and government organizations and associations, communications, advertising, and public relations agencies, and independent consultants, editors, journalists, social media managers, and writers, among other related areas of expertise. Its members are based in Washington D.C., Virginia and Maryland.

Ironmark, an industry leader in next-level print and communications, added Ted O’Connor as its Senior VP of National Accounts.  According to a release, O’Connor will add another layer of strategic networking for Ironmark, and plans to leverage his four decades in the industry to bolster Ironmark’s national footprint.  An industry veteran with over 40 years in the business, O’Connor previously led business development as a principal at the world-renowned paper company, Mohawk.

Ironmark CEO Jeff Ostenso says:  “The diversification of what Ironmark does, the focus on multiple verticals, our work-life balance; all of this aligned with where Ted stands in his career. We couldn’t be more thrilled to have him join the team and take Ironmark to the next level.”

Fannie Mae announced that Roberto Munoz has joined the company as its Vice President of External Communications, bringing more than 15 years of global communications experience at market-leading Fortune 500 organizations. In this role, he will lead Fannie Mae’s external communications efforts through creative storytelling, thought leadership, and stakeholder engagement.  Munoz joins Fannie Mae from Munoz Communications, LLC, which specialized in brand positioning and change management communications for clients, including the Royal Bank of Canada, Bristol Myers Squibb and ABB Group.  Prior to founding Munoz Communications, Munoz served as the Head of Communications in the U.K. and Europe for HSBC Holdings, PLC, leading employee communications for the European market and external communications for HSBC UK’s retail bank.  He also held various leadership positions at Tesco, PLC, a British multinational retailer with approximately 7,000 stores across eight countries. Earlier in his career, Munoz served as a diversity & inclusion (D&I) communications strategist at Witeck Communications, providing D&I-focused communications counsel for consumer brands, including Jaguar, Land Rover and Motorola.
