The Israel Ministry of Tourism has signed a one-year agreement with MMGY Global to handle its PR efforts in the US.

Development Counsellors International inked a one-year $22,500 monthly retainer pact to represent the Ministry on March 26, 2023.

That contract was not renewed.

MMGY, which came in second place to DCI in last year’s tender competition, has taken over the Isreal PR duties for $20K a month, as of May 1.

The Ministry “reserves the right whenever and under whichever circumstances it sees fit, to perform PR activities by itself, or to purchase PR Services directly from another agent, at its sole and exclusive discretion,” according to the agreement.

It may extend MMGY’s contract for four additional one-year periods.

MMGY has Lauren Kaufman (MD-PR North America); Julie Freeman (MD-PR, social & experiential marketing), and Lea Komitsky (senior account director-PR) working the Israeli account.

The firm reports to Eyal Carlin, the Ministry's North America tourism commissioner.
