Citizen Science transforming how children see the world by looking at the landscape anew!!!

The Aquarium of the Pacific is on a spit of land between a small berthing area and the City of Long Beach.  Sponsoring a "Citizen Science Symposium", the Aquarium, the Marine Conservation Research Institute, and Premier, gathered educators, specialists, authors, researchers, agencies, nonprofits to fete the new era in education which is posed to embrace not just science, but activities, actions, stewardship and discovery that links and protects literacy, resilience, habitat, species, and local to state resources that are irreplaceable.

It was interesting to learn that "citizen science" may be a new horizon in NGSS or in outings, bioblitz meet ups and hikes, but actually Darwin was once a person who became a homespun Brit interested in life forms.

As a study and a task, this symposium of stakeholders, land managers, metro area institutions, parks, rural and municipal visitors were gathered to share ideas, tools, accomplishments, partnerships, mission, food and apps.

Collaboration was on display with the benefits of collecting data, good design, unexpected discoveries, and training to engage stakeholders, volunteers, students, and staff.
