Lifesaving Resources of Kennebunkport, Maine, will be conducting a series of ICE RESCUE training programs developed specifically for First Responders.

The ICE RESCUE TECHNICIAN course provide First Responders with the skills and knowledge required to safely and effectively respond to incidents on and through the ice.  This course includes 3-hours of classroom sessions, and 5-hours of practical training on and through the ice.

During the practical sessions, First Responders wear specialized Ice Rescue Suits designed to provide thermal protection from the cold, and to keep them dry and buoyant while in the water.

Ice Rescue Technician courses will be conducted in Portland, Maine on February 4 and March 4.  Any Fire, Rescue, EMS, or Law Enforcement personnel interested in participating should register online at www.lifesaving.com, or call Lifesaving Resources for additional information.

A comprehensive and intensive 4-day INTERNATIONAL ICE RESCUE TRAIN-THE-TRAINER ACADEMY will be conducted February 16 - 19 in Portland, Maine.  The purpose of this Academy is to train First Responders as Ice Rescue Instructors.  Upon successful completion of the Academy, graduates are authorized as Ice Rescue Instructors and able to conduct Ice Rescue Awareness, Operations and Technician level courses for members of their own departments/agencies.
