Kick off the holiday season at the International Arts & Crafts Market, hosted annually by Margaret McNamara Education Grants (MMEG). This year, the Market takes place Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, November 10, 11, and 12, 10am–5pm, in the World Bank’s beautiful HQ lobby at 1818 H St. NW, Washington DC. Photo ID is required; this is a cashless event. Bring your friends, get started on your holiday shopping, and meet artisans from around the world.

The Market is the main fundraising event for MMEG, a 501(c)3 charity. Since 1981, MMEG has empowered women from emerging market countries by supporting their higher education. Grantees study in diverse fields, including engineering, information technologies, health, science, education, social studies, and law. But they all share the same mission: to build a better world for women and children. MMEG has, to date, awarded over $5.2 million in grants to 600 women in nearly 80 countries. Interested partners can learn more about MMEG and these remarkable women by visiting www.MMEG.org.

If you can’t come to the Market but still want to help extraordinary women change the world, MMEG participates in the U.S. government’s 2025 Combined Federal Campaign (CFC code 58117) for federal employees and retirees; the 2025 campaign is open now. World Bank and IMF staff and retirees can give via the CCC and IMF Giving Together campaign, respectively. Donations can also be made directly at www.MMEG/org/donate. MMEG maintains a Platinum Transparency Rating from GuideStar.
