This weekend, don’t miss the Georgetown Garden Tour, Evermay’s continuing ‘The Listening Room’ series and PassportDC’s EU Open House. Happy Mother’s Day!

There’s Still Time to Grab Tickets to the 96th Annual Georgetown Garden Tour
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., attendees are welcome to tour participating neighborhood gardens. The self-guided tour visits both sides of Georgetown. Guests are encouraged to take a break at the club’s tea at Christ Church Georgetown from 2 to 4 p.m., and to browse the club’s boutique in the courtyard. The tour will be held rain or shine. Evermay’s ‘The Listening Room’ Continues With ‘4 Hands Are Better Than 2’

Evermay’s ‘The Listening Room’ series next iteration is this Friday with “4 Hands Are Better Than 2.” The series is curated by artistic director Ryo Yanagitani and aims to be a relaxing, soulful start to the weekend. Friday’s concert will feature pianist Tanya Gabrielian, who has performed on five continents in venues like Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Opera House. Washington Concert Opera Rounds Out Season

Washington Concert Opera will finish their season with Mozart’s “Idomeneo.” One of Mozart’s operatic masterpieces, it first premiered in Munich in 1781 when he was only 25 years old. Mozart combined elements of Italian high drama with dramatic French Baroque style. More information on how to get tickets can be found here.

There’s an AI Expo at the Convention Center

The Special Competitive Studies Project is hosting their third AI+ Expo at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center today through Saturday. The event promises to be a forum for academic, government and industry research entities to exhibit the latest technological breakthroughs in fiels like AI, microelectronics and augmented reality. At Strathmore on Saturday: ‘The Blue Hour’

Head to Strathmore on Saturday evening for “The Blue Hour,” an orchestral song cycle put together by composers Rachel Grimes, Angélica Negrón, Shara Nova, Caroline Shaw and Sarah Kirkland Snider. The piece is inspired by the poetry of Carolyn Forché’s “On Earth,” which blends voice and orchestra into a meditation on life, loss and memories. More information can be found here.

Check Out the Annual EU Open House

PassportDC’s flagship event is always the first Saturday after Europe Day. This year’s event falls on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. European Union embassies open their doors to the public so guests can learn about the cultures that make up the EU. This year, like many other events, the EU Open House is celebrating America’s 250th birthday and the years of ideas and achievements between Europe and the U.S. More information can be found here.

Folger Consort Will Perform Elizabethan Music and Poetry to Celebrate Spring

The final concert program of the season for the Folger Consort, “An English Garden,” will run with performances Friday through Sunday. Guests are welcome to celebrate the beauty of spring with Elizabethan music and poetry that coincides with the Tudor period. During the time, the English cultivated an obsession for meticulously manicured gardens that enticed the senses. They were so focused on gardens that during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, there were nearly 20 horticultural books and countless floral and pastoral poems published. At the National Portrait Gallery: Masque at the Museum

Have a bored teen? Send them to Friday evening’s Masque at the Museum party for those in grades 9 through 12. To celebrate the end of the school year, guests are welcome to dress in masquerade-themed formal attire or cosplay for a party in the Kogod Courtyard. Participants will need to show their ID to verify their age and registration is required, which you can do so here.

The 26th Annual Heart’s Delight Wine Tasting and Auction is This Weekend

Now through Saturday, the American Heart Association is hosting their 26th annual Heart’s Delight Wine Tasting and Auction, which will include four full nights of wine, auctions and food from local chefs from participating restaurants like Pastis, Casa Teresa, Muoi Tieu, Maydan and others. The event concludes with a grand tasting and auction with food prepped by the chefs mentioned. More information can be found here.
