New Georgetown University students to the Hilltop Campus will move in beginning Thursday, Aug. 21. Expect the main campus to be busy over the weekend with extra traffic on the west side of Georgetown — from 34th to 37th Streets as well as Prospect Street and the Canal Road entrance.
Move in for first year and new transfer students will take place Thursday and Friday, Aug. 21 and 22. Returning student move-in takes place Sunday, Aug. 24.
During move-in weekend, the Office of Neighborhood Life will operate SNAP teams with additional hours. SNAP is a service coordinated by the university’s Office of Neighborhood Life to enhance safety, assist and educate students and respond to concerns from students and community members about the quality of life in the community.
The annual Move In Drive includes a bonus for residents. Students — and community members — living in the Georgetown, Burleith, Cloisters and Foxhall neighborhoods can request a pickup from the University for excess trash, cardboard and bulk items through Sept. 5 (excluding Labor Day). It’s simple and easy to participate. Click here to schedule a pick up.
If you have any additional questions, please reach out to the Office of Neighborhood Life at neighborhoodlife@georgetown.edu.
