The festivities took all day on June 7. After all, it was the 30th anniversary of the Friends of Volta Park. So, FOVP hosted two events — a Field Day and Cocktail Party.

The field day began in the morning at the public park on 34th Street with sports, games, crafts and a dog parade. A cocktail party in the evening at Georgetown Visitation Prep on 35th Street offered light bites, live music, a silent auction and, of course, cocktails.

At the party, Friends of Volta Park President Saraya Arnold thanked their supporters as did Claire Voorhees, Chair of 30th Anniversary Cocktail Party.

Among those celebrating was John Richardson, who began the rescue and renovation of the park 30 years ago.
