Looking backward. If you do look backward, note your successes so you can build on those going forward. Dwelling on past problems and obstacles keeps you from moving forward. You’ll hear excuses like, “We’ve already tried that and it didn’t work.” You’ll argue for your limitations instead of fuel confidence for success. Focus forward. Ask a question like: What’s a new possibility we haven’t considered before?
