Washington Fine Properties has sold Willow Oaks, the former residence of Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), who died in 2023 at the age of 90. The home, located at 3300 Nebraska Ave. NW, closed for $6.25 million. Feinstein and her late husband Richard Blum bought the home for $5.6 million in 2001.

The 7,185-square-foot, 4-bedroom, 8-bathroom Spring Valley mansion sits on nearly one acre and is gated. In addition to the main house, there is a large swimming pool and pool house, gardens, a changing room house and a carriage house. The carriage house has a three-car garage and apartment above it.

A local developer bought the property, the Washington Business Journal reported. An affiliate of Silver Spring’s Chase Builders called 3300 Nebraska Partners LLC is the developer—they plan to tear down the property and build three homes at the address. Trust documents state that Chase Builders took out a $4.4 million dollar loan from Presidential Bank as part of the transaction, according to WBJ.

Senator Feinstein, a California native, served as a U.S. senator for over 30 years. She was also the first female mayor of San Francisco and the first woman from California elected to the Senate.

Beth Roth and the Roth Team at WFP represented the sale.

“Handling the sale of the Feinstein Blum estate was a distinct honor,” Roth said in a press release. “This exceptional property is a rare gem, and I’m thrilled to have delivered a successful result for such a meaningful listing.”
