Fatt Macc "Kitchen Restrictions"
The bubbling rap phenom took 2022 by storm with aflurry of releases, interviews, and performances. Most recently, Macc ended theyear with an explosive freestyle for AMPD. Macc also recently interviewed with TRSH Mag and performed “On His Head” for their in-studio series.Preceding the TRSH Mag interview and performance, Macc did a series ofinterviews with New Era TV, The Progress Report, DJ Smallz Eyes, and Pandora NOW to detail his signing to Atlantic, his Young Street Dreamer (Deluxe) mixtape, and how he got hisstart.
Fatt Macc’s perseverance is rooted in all of hissuccess today. At just 21 years old, Fatt Macc, born Malcolm Carlisle, hasbeaten the odds and clawed his way toward being the next rapper to watch outfor from Alabama. He kicked things off in 2020 with his debut project Bandemic, and two years later he graced his growing fan base with not one, but twoprojects: Young Street Dreamer and Uncle Sam.
His dream of being a rapper goesall the way back to his days in elementary school. Inspired by influences thatinclude Doe B, Lil Wayne, Soulja Boy, Rick Ross, and Rich Homie Quan, it tookFatt Macc a few years to make his first song, something that didn’t occur untilhe almost finished elementary school. This youthful success was quickly stuntedby Macc enduring a stint in juvenile prison as well as being the victim of twoseparate shootings. These moments called for him to push through turbulenttimes and reach new heights.
Like his perseverance, Fatt Macc’s concrete workethic plays a part in his upward trek. A father of two kids, a boy and a girl,Macc quickly realized that it wasn’t just about himself anymore, primarily ashe worked jobs at a Popeye’s and a plant to support his family. “My son wasn’tborn when I got shot the first time.
When I got shot the second time, my sonwas here so it was like, this sh*t is bigger than me. You gotta be a grown man,you gotta do what you gotta do. It ain't about me." As things progress forMacc and new goals land on his agenda, there’s one thing that will never leavehis mind: “Only the strong survive.” Macc has been through a lot, but he’s alsoovercome a lot and it’s the latter that gives him the motivation to pressonward and the confidence to reach for higher levels time and time again.
