Dream Analyst Reveals The 5 Warning Dreams That Point To Holiday Stress

We all look forward to the holidays because it is a time of happiness, fellowship, and feast. But for many, along with the festivities comes a certain unwelcome guest? stress!

It's easy to over do it on the stress meter this time of year because we have to shop, we have to decorate, we have parties to go to, big dinners to prepare and... in laws to deal with. If we?re not careful, we can crash and burn and miss out on the good times we worked so hard to create.

According to Dream Expert Lauri Quinn Loewenberg, author of Cracking The Dream Code, our dreams can be our best friend in times of stress and will give us a heads up when things are becoming a bit much. The dreaming mind will alert us to things we ignore or deny while awake. While we may lie to ourselves during the day, we are forced to be honest with ourselves at night when we dream. She says there are 5 common dreams that are red flags we are over-doing it, and if we heed their warning we can avoid an emotional crash this season!

The 5 Dreams That Point To Stress

BACKED UP OR FILTHY TOILETS

- "Our psyches can get clogged up, just like the plumbing in our home if it is not properly maintained," says Loewenberg. "If you're trying to find a toilet or if the toilets in your dream are backed up, filthy or just plain unusable, then this means there is some frustration or negativity you are holding in that you need to relieve yourself of!"

The message of this dream: Time to find a healthy outlet for your frustration such as someone you trust that will lend an ear, speaking your mind when you need to or even a physical release such as a kickboxing class or a jog. The longer you hold in your frustration, the bigger the "mess" you will have to deal with later.

EXPLOSIONS

- "Explosions are a common metaphor we use when describing an emotional outburst," says Loewenberg. "So you can bet when there is an explosion in your dream that you or someone around you is on the verge! This dream is warning you are sending yourself that you might blow your lid if you don't relieve the pressure on yourself."

The message of this dream: You or someone around you has a short fuse right now. It might be a good idea to take some time away from your responsibilities and the people that are adding fuel to your fire. Take a long, hot bath, watch a funny movie, do something that will diffuse the ticking time bomb within!

FALLING

- "Falling dreams," says Loewenberg "are telling you that something in your life is going in the wrong direction. If you dream of falling this time of year, ask yourself if something doesn?t seem to be working out as you had planned. Has something or someone been a let down? What situation in your life do you need to redirect? Also, look at your emotional state. Are you falling into a depression?"

The message of this dream: Red alert! Something is slipping out of your control. Time to decide if it is worth redirecting the situation or just letting it go.

DROWNING

- Loewenberg says, "Drowning is a classic dream to have when you are in over your head in responsibilities. This dream is warning you that you are at the point where you may seemingly have no time to even breathe. IT can also be a warning that you are beginning to sink into a depression."

The message of this dream: You've allowed too many things on your plate. Time to lighten your

load, ask for assistance or simply get rid of certain projects or plans that are not necessary right now. If you feel yourself getting depressed, surround yourself with people that make you laugh or talk to someone you trust.

HOUSE FIRE

- "A house in a dream represents you, your state of mind and even your body," says Loewenberg. "If your house, or any house, in your dream, is on fire then something is consuming you. And this time of year it is very likely stress. House fires are a classic warning dream for frazzled nerves."

The message of this dream: The heat is on! The pressure you are under is too hot to handle and it is consuming every part of you and your life. Time to find a way to cool down, relax, ESCAPE! Get a massage, find your happy place... find time for just YOU!
