THE KEY TO SAVING LIVES: Dr. Terry A. Gordon will share his empowering messages about life in new self-help film

"Help is right around the corner." That is the message from retired cardiologist Dr. Terry A. Gordon, whose life mission is to have Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) - and someone trained to use them - in every public building across the country. He will be taking his message to the public with an appearance as a featured expert in "The SECRETS of the KEYS" - the newest personal development film from writer/producer Robin Jay. Jay's first film, "The KEEPER of the KEYS" won Best Independent Film at the Las Vegas International Film Festival and Best Documentary from The INDIE Fest Awards.

Jay was impressed with Dr. Gordon's work and is excited to help him share his mission along with his powerful message in her new film that is currently in development. Jay, who is also President of the Las Vegas Convention Speakers Bureau (LVCSB), relishes the fact that one person really CAN make a significant, positive difference in countless lives.

She shares, "Dr. Gordon knows the importance of an early shock with a defibrillator when an individual suffers a sudden cardiac arrest. AEDs are easy enough for nearly anyone to use. The challenge, as Dr. Gordon sees it, is that even if there is a defibrillator right around the corner, if no one knows it's there, lives will be lost needlessly. His mission is to get AEDs distributed nationally, in every school, stadium, golf course and health club as well as in public buildings. His mission includes training people in CPR on how to use these life-saving devices. Dr Gordon often shares a saying from the Old Testament and Quran: "If you can save one life, you can change the world."

Jay also admires Dr. Gordon as an inspirational leader and speaker. He is the internationally bestselling author of "No Storm Lasts Forever: Transforming Suffering into Insight" (Hay House), in which he shares his personal and dramatic account of transformation. As a physician, he dealt with life and death on a daily basis. He knows as much as anyone that life is precious and can change in an instant. He and his family experienced a tragic shift first-hand when his son, Tyler was involved in an automobile accident and sustained a severe spinal cord injury that left him a quadriplegic.

Dr. Gordon's experience has led him on a spiritual journey to an even greater understanding of life and the truths it has to offer. Rather than lamenting so-called adversities, he offers that we can choose to be grateful for them. He encourages us to embrace the pain and turmoil, accepting them as gifts from the Divine. He has come to know that adversity can be used as an opportunity for growth and enlightenment.

Jay said, "It's refreshing to discover an expert and speaker with Dr. Gordon's qualifications; he is an authentic and dedicated individual. I'm thrilled to have him as part of the outstanding cast of experts and personal development stars who will appear in this empowering new film. As I recruit speakers and experts to feature in my new film, I hope to discover a few more experts like Dr. Gordon - those who are genuine and sincere, passionate about their messages and mission and who want to reach as many people as possible. Thanks to recent advances in digital distribution, I will be taking this incredible new film to people on a global level, helping those who are seeking answers to living a better life."

Dr. Gordon completed his medical school training at what is now known as the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, completing a rotating internship at Doctors Hospital followed by Internal Medicine residency at Akron General Medical Center. He completed his Invasive Cardiology Fellowship at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation. While he was president of the Summit County Ohio American Heart Association, he helped to raise funds to place AEDs in every junior and high school. His community became the first county of its size in the nation to do so. For his efforts, the American Heart Association named him National Physician of the Year, 2002.

He orchestrated the State of Ohio School AED program, placing more than 4,470 defibrillators in schools across the state. As of this writing, at least 15 lives have been saved as a result of his initiative. His national campaign has resulted in legislation put forth by U.S. Congresswoman Betty Sutton to recreate the Ohio School AED initiative on a national scale, with the goal being to place one AED in every single school in the country. The bill, called The Josh Miller HEARTS Act, was named for the 15-year old high school football player at Barberton High School who collapsed on the field and died during a game. The bill has twice passed the U. S. House of Representatives unanimously, but thus far has not yet been brought up for a vote on the floor of the U.S. Senate.
