For centuries women have gathered together in groups to learn from one another for the purpose of passing along valuable skills. Today, the UP Woman Circles take this age old model and teaches contemporary skills women need now to advance in their careers, businesses, political positions, and achieve personal growth.

Between 1970 and 2009 women went from holding 37 percent of all jobs to nearly 48 percent (that is 38 million more women). Many men, unable to find work or laid off from the recession are opting to stay at home while women sustain the trend of having a larger presence in the workforce. "These two developmental trends are exactly the reason why UP Woman is such a needed service to our community of women," Pressley says.
