Marty Irby launched Capitol South LLC, in D.C. According to a release, the new firm “is dedicated to providing proven winning strategies and solutions in the lobbying, advocacy, public relations, and political space.  Irby, a former Communications Director, Press Secretary, and Policy Advisor to Rep. Ed Whitfield, R-Ky. (retired), was named one of The Hill’s Top Lobbyists in 2019, 2020, and 2021.” Today, Irby serves as Director and Board Secretary at the Organization for Competitive Markets in Lincoln, Nebraska; as Senior Advisor at the Animal Wellness Foundation in Los Angeles; and on the campaign Steering Committee for both Congresswoman Nancy Mace, R-SC-01, and Congressman Buddy Carter, R-GA-01. As a young adult, he immersed himself in the study of politics, equines, and real estate development, adds the release.

SCP Health engaged Bluetext to bring a digital-first approach to communicating its brand value to new audiences. SCP Health is a healthcare staffing and operations management solution for hospital facilities nationwide. According to Bluetext, after rapid expansion of facility partners, solution offerings and technology, they realized that they had outgrown the previous brand and digital profile. SCP sought a refreshed brand identity that retained the brand reputation it had built over the last 50 years, but elevated its identity to match today’s capabilities. Bluetext created a brand evolution which kept key aspects of the logo but with revitalized elements.

Dan Sweet joins DDC Public Affairs as senior vice president focusing on the company’s healthcare work. According to a release, before joining DDC, “Sweet held leadership positions at APCO Worldwide, FleishmanHillard and Weber Shandwick, where he specialized in media relations, strategic communications and crisis management.”  The release adds that Sweet has guided and executed high-level campaigns for Fortune 500 companies and major trade associations.
