According to CBS News online, a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge finalized the Courtney Cox/David Arquette divorce on Tuesday, May 28, 2013. The couple separated in October 2010 but didn?t file for divorce until June 2012. Almost a year later, their marriage of 12 years ended.

CP Entertainment online news reports that their split was "amicable and both tried to conclude the divorce reasonably with the other as soon as possible" Divorce expert attorney Ed Sherman says, ?It?s common to hear about celebrity divorces that involve nasty court battles, so it?s refreshing to see members of the Hollywood elite behaving in a mature manner.?

According to CP Entertainment, ?Divorce documents have described that 38 year old Cox, and 41 year old Arquette agreed that they would share joint legal and physical custody of their eight year old daughter, Coco.? Sherman says that it?s vital for divorcing parents to cooperate on divorce terms, and behave in a way that won?t damage their children, both during and after the divorce. He says that children learn by what you do, not by what you say; so continuing to fight and argue long after the divorce is over only teaches children that problems can?t be solved.

Sherman has devoted over 40 years of his professional life to helping couples settle their divorces without a court battle. He says that Cox and Arquette are setting a good example of the right way to divorce.
