Good news. Here’s some updates on Coronavirus and a recent commentary from the Orlando Medical News.
One interesting fact about the Coronavirus death rate. It’s much less that what was anticipated. One of the challenging aspects is determing the death rate. If you use the confirmed number of cases (that’s about 5.4 million in the US) the mortality rate is < 3 %.
If, however you consider the unconfirmed cases the mortality rate goes much lower. (< 1 %). Last month the CDC began checking for COVID antibodies in blood samples unconfirmed cases. These were patients who had blood drawn for other reasons. They found that many of these patients already had antibodies to the virus. They are estimating the number of unconfirmed cases may be 2 to 13% higher. So it’s really hard to tell exactly how many total cases we have in the US. The Good news is this: The Pandemci is not as bad as we anticipated.
This is good news. Let’s keep going.
