Job: Sales and Technology Recruiter

Coaching: 1-on-1 Coaching with Matthew Walley

How did you find out about Frame of Mind Coaching?
I have known Matt for the past 20 years. I was interested in doing some kind of coaching, and he was the first person I called.

What was it like working with Matthew as a coach?
It was a perfect match. Matt had the ability to look at things that I wasn’t paying attention to that were staring me right in the face. He also taught me the value of writing in a journal daily. When I wrote my thoughts down, things that I didn’t think were important at all became significantly important. I wouldn’t have been able to pick up on the things he pointed out myself. Some of the habits I had formed and certain ways that I viewed myself became much more apparent when I wrote about it. Matt was able to draw that to the surface and show me.

What were you struggling with prior to coaching?
I’ve had a history with substance abuse, I’m in recovery and I went through a divorce a couple of years ago. I also had a restricted relationship with my children and a professional life that was unfulfilling. Life had been overwhelming for me and I was looking for a solution.

I felt like I was certainly qualified to love life and I was certainly intelligent enough to be successful, and yet things weren’t aligning properly for me. I just couldn’t catch a break. Some of my problems were self-inflicted, and some of them seemed circumstantial, but all of them had to do with me.

How has FOM Coaching impacted your life?
I can’t put a price tag on the impact it’s had. I’m earning more money than I was before. But more importantly, it has allowed me to live in the positive instead of in the deficit. I definitely have a good life, but I was focusing on all the negative things that came up as opposed to all the positive aspects of my life - I have a job, I have healthy kids and I have a good, solid relationship with a wonderful woman that I met in recovery.

Once coaching taught me to focus on all of that - all the good stuff that was already there - I really started to see a difference in my life. I’m no longer miserable or scared of life and the future. I still don’t have many of the things that I want, but what I do have is the happiness and the mental capacity to understand that it’s there and that if I focus on it, it does indeed grow. Coaching was really instrumental in grounding me and reminding me of how wonderful things can be and really, truly are.

Would you recommend FOM Coaching to others?
Yes, and I have. It’s worth every penny. I meet so many people who could really benefit from learning more about themselves and from emotionally reconnecting with themselves. I believe that was my biggest takeaway: getting back to myself and having confidence in myself.

Are you overwhelmed and stressed out? Could you use a helping hand to pull you out of that chaotic head space? We would love to talk with you about what you’re experiencing and show you ways to live a joyous and peaceful life.
