Because Micky Mouse is entering the public domain in 2024, there is great interest in what other characters will be joining the Public Domain over the next ten years.
But what about characters that are already in the public domain? You probably know most of them (and these are not all), but it might be interesting to jog our memories. After all, there be some opportunities to revive some of these characters with no rights or royalties involved.
A word to the wise: You can create your version of a Cinderella or an Alice in Wonderland; you can’t use the Disney version.
