A “chock” is a small wooden block placed in front of and in back of a vehicle’s wheels to prevent movement, The two pieces are connected by a short rope in some instances, which is used to pull the chocks out to permit movement,
The device is primitive but you’ll find it at every airport for every plane parked at every gate. Chocks must be applied to large trucks when used on a job—they’re used by the utility companies, tree cutters, and so on. They are tossed around, chipped, and ugly.
But they DO stop movement very effectively.
I’ve found that a lot of you have “chocks” stopping your movement. Yours are mental, not wooden, and are not beaten up but are rather pristine. That’s because they are permanently in place. These chocks are feelings of poor self-worth, of limiting self-beliefs, of negative feedback that should have been ignored.
Pull the damn chocks. Or have someone else pull them for you, No matter how great your experience, or education, or intelligence, the vehicle isn’t going anywhere because you’ve incapacitated your means of movement.
