Georgetown Art All Night returned to Wisconsin Avenue on Friday, Sept. 12 — and was an uplifting sight to see and be a part of.
There were 16 showcase sites with dedicated programming for several hours — along with more than 20 participating businesses that hosted artist pop ups. The evening offered late night shopping and late dining. It showcased live music and lively dancing as well as art exhibits, interactive workshops and cultural displays.
The Duke Ellington High School Band kicked off it all off around 5 p.m. at the Georgetown Public Library. Venues included Addison Ripley Art, Washington Printmakers Gallery, the African Union, Calloway Fine Art, Dancing at the Chase Bank parking lot, L’Enfant Gallery and Neighbors DC Night Market in Georgetown Court.
There were French singers — as well as an Ethiopian coffee ceremony and textiles from all over the African continent at the African Union, along with lots of music and dancing and art. And free dinners.
Visual artists Teresa Oaxaca and Robin Sutliff mesmerized at L’Enfant Gallery, inside and out.
New this year, the vendors’ market at Georgetown Court was packed with people and out-of-the-ordinary merchandise. Nearby, Billy Martin of Martin’ Tavern held court, enjoying the energetic event with everyone else.
“Wow! What an evening,” said Ellen Waugh of Georgetown Main Street.
One of Georgetown’s marquee community events in Georgetown, Art All Night happens in several neighborhoods in Washington. The 2025 Art All Night Festival was funded by the DC Commission on Arts and Humanities and was made possible by the DC Department of Small and Local Business Development. Sponsors included the British International School Martin’s Tavern, Martin Diamond Properties and Georgetown Court.
Kudos to Rachel Shank and Georgetown Main Street for directing and achieving this massive happening!
