About the Author:
Dr. Jean Cirillo?s (Huntington, NY) experience with IQ testing began during
her work with the Counseling Psychology Program at Columbia University. Much
of this work involved screening adults and teens for appropriate career
paths based on overall intelligence, as well assessing specific patterns of
strengths and weaknesses in work-related areas. Her later training and work
in the Long Island school system focused on using IQ tests as an important
measure in screening for signs of learning difficulties and giftedness in
children of all ages. Cirillo designed remediation and enrichment programs.
She has written a monthly column for the Long Island Parent and articles for
the North Shore Women?s Newspaper and Parent Connections. In addition,
Cirillo has appeared on hundreds of national talk shows as both an expert
guest and staff psychologist. Currently, she does consulting for MTV, VH1,
and BET on reality shows such as Flavor of Love, College Hill, Made, Making
the Band, and I Love New York.
