On Tuesday, November 12th, Omekongo Dibinga Will address the students of Arkansas State University. The event is being organized by Student Activities Board and will focus on what it means to be an UPstander and not a bystander in the face of everyday challenges colleges students face. From standing up and reacting to serious issues such as bullying, racism, and homophobia to being proactive on issues such as being a designated driver for a friend, this session will underscore the importance and necessity of standing up for one's classmate. The event starts at 6:00 PM in Centennial Hall.

Says Omekongo of this event: "I am so honored to be invited to speak at Arkansas State University. The Student Activities Board is extremely passionate about student safety and creating a culture of dignity and respect. The staff with whom I have spoken have also expressed serious compassion for creating a climate of unity. I am just happy that I can add my voice to the great work that Arkansas State University is already doing. It's going to be a great night!"

Omekongo Dibinga is the UPstander. In this capacity he serves as a diversity educator, and trilingual recording artist.
