Will your book change the world?

11th San Francisco Writing for Change Conference on September 14, 2019  will show writers how they can change the world for the better… through their writing.

The San Francisco Writing for Change conference is based on the premise that ANY KIND of writing can change the world...and several attendees have found book success at previous SFW4C events over the years to prove it. This year, the 2019 SFW4C  presenters will include author/actress/activist Brooke Axtell, The O.G. Rev Harry Louis Williams II, and Michael Warr (Of Poetry and Protest) along with a full faculty of presenters--all on hand to interact with attendees at this information packed one-day event.

The 2019 San Francisco Writing for Change Conference will take place on Saturday, September 14th, at First Unitarian Universalist Center (Franklin at Geary in SF). The faculty of bestselling authors, editors, publishers, and agents all specialize in working with writers who are passionate about their writing.

in addition to author/actress/activist Brooke Axtell, The O.G. Rev Harry Louis Williams II, Michael Warr (Of Poetry and Protest), the 2019 SFW4C  presenters include Melissa Hart (The Writer and Better with Books: 500 Diverse Booksto Ignite Empathy..), bestselling author Nina Amir, Mango Press Acquisitions Editor Brenda Knight, Fuse Literary founder Laurie McLean (also the SFW4C Director), literary agents Peter Beren and Karly Caserza, Belize Writers Conference founder Joey Garcia, and Smashwords Marketing Director Jim Azevedo. Several respected editors and book coaches will be offering free consultations to attendees during the event. Past presenters at the SFW4C have included Daniel Ellsberg, Adam and Arlie Hochschild, Cami Walker (author of the bestselling 29 Gifts...who found her agent and editor at the SFW4C), Peter Wiley, Anthony Marra, Jean Shinoda Bolen, Philip Zimbardo, and many others.

For over a decade, the San Francisco Writing for Change conference has had a clear mission: Help writers change the world for the better through their writing. Originally the event focused on nonfiction, then expanded to include all kinds of writing—novels, biographies, memoir, poetry, event children's books.  "Any book can be the catalyst for change and both traditional publishing and newer ways to publish—from ebooks to blogs—can let a well-crafted piece of writing reach an unprecedented audience around the globe," says SFW4C Marketing Director Barbara Santos.

The SFW4C event draws attendees from across the US and often a few writers from other countries. It is designed to help writers in any genre and at any level…from beginners to published authors. Included in the registration is a consultation with an independent editor and a chance to talk with the presenters in a 'Speed Dating' format. "It is not a 'how to write' event. It is a 'how to get your writing published and noticed' conference with much one-on-one time and motivation,'" says Santos.

Registration is available online with substantial discounts for early registration. It will be $149 through September 1st. The at-the-door price is  $250…if seats remain.  There is a 100 person limit!
