o Useful for signing up on suspicious sites or segmenting types of email (e.g., marketing, health, etc.).
o You can delete these addresses anytime to stop receiving messages.
2. Filter Messages by Status:
o In the Messages app, tap Filters (top left).
o View only unread, known senders, unknown senders, or recently deleted messages.
3. Remove Sound from Videos:
o Open the Photos app, tap Edit, then mute the video using the speaker icon.
o You can always restore the sound later—audio isn’t permanently deleted.

Episode 988 – Phone Tips
[00:00:08] Welcome to Screw the Commute. The entrepreneurial podcast dedicated to getting you out of the car and into the money, with your host, lifelong entrepreneur and multimillionaire, Tom Antion.

[00:00:24] Hey everybody, it's Tom here with episode 988 of Screw the Commute podcast. Today we're going to give you some more phone tips. And if you look at our training section, screwthecommute.com/training, oh, I probably have 20 different episodes on phone tips that'll make you lightning fast with your cell phone. We're all using it all day long now. Might as well learn how to use it and the tips and tricks that it has, which I don't know anybody on earth that knows all of them. So I've been picking ones that I think will help business people. So I've got four more of them for you here. And also if you happen to be on Android. Well, I don't have an Android, but a lot of the same things Android would be able to do. You just have to figure them out on an android. And I'm trying to give you the impetus to say, oh, I need to do that. Let me go figure out how to do it on an Android. All right. So this is episode 988. Make sure you go back and listen to 987, 986 and 985. This was a treatise on all the important things you need to know about modern day shopping cart systems. And pick up a copy of our automation e-book at screwthecommute.com/automatefree and check out my mentor program at GreatInternetMarketingTraining.com.

[00:01:43] All right, so first tip, I think I have 3 or 4 of them here for you today is hide my email. So this is a way that right in your phone, you can create a bogus email that forwards to your real email so that when you sign up for things. Now I'm kind of shooting myself in the foot because if you use this on me, I won't get your real email. And I'm a crazy fanatic on email marketing. But I do know that there's lots of times when there's things that look maybe a little shaky, or you think you're going to get spammed to death, or you're a real privacy person, that you could use this tip. All right. So on an iPhone you go to settings and then iCloud and then click Hide My Email. And it's going to create a new address for you to use. But you don't have to use it. You can say, no, I want to make it up myself. Oh there's my ka ching, Ka ching. Got to shut that down. Does anybody know this person? Potential spam. Guaranteed spam is what it should say. Um, so you can make another address that, uh. That's bogus, but forwards to your real address, and you can add notes next to it so that you can say, oh, okay, I'm going to use this one for all marketing emails that I get. I'm going to use this one for all health something or, you know, whatever else, whatever you're into or porn sites.

[00:03:15] Porn. I'll use this one for all my porn stuff, and then you can delete it and get rid of it. And then you're not on all these lists. All right, so that's hide my email. Now next one is how to look at just the messages on your phone that you haven't read yet. To do that you go to your messages app. And on the top left on iPhone it says filters. So you just tap on that and then you have these options like choose Unread and it shows you all the ones you haven't read yet, but it also has. Here's a whole bunch of them from known senders. Those would be people in your probably in your contacts, or there's ones from unknown senders you can choose or you can choose recently deleted. In case you say, oh man, I messed up. I wanted to keep that one message and it'll bring it back for you. And then you can click all Messages and it gives you all of them again. So that's how you look at different, uh. Filter your messages and your messages app. All right. Now the next one this can be handy for you. Is removing sound from videos that are on your phone. Because a lot of times you shoot a video. Maybe you catch something and it's really cool looking, but then when you listen to it back, it's got. Background noises that you were kind of oblivious to at the time, and you really don't want them on there.

[00:04:46] So you can go into your photos app and click edit. And a lot of times it doesn't say edit. It's a bunch of little lines with circles on the ends of them. So that's your edit icon. And then once you. Click edit there's a speaker icon. It's usually I think it's on the top left but sometimes they might move it. You click that and it'll put a line through it to turn the audio off for that video. And then click done and you think, well, gee, Tom, I just ruined that audio. Maybe I want the audio. Just didn't want to use it to send it to somebody. Well, you can just reverse that, edit it and turn the speaker thing on and the audio is saved there with that video. So you didn't lose anything, you just sent it or you made a copy without audio. Okay. So that's removing audio from video. And the last one is you may want to you know, I don't know, I have 2500 contacts in my iPhone or something. And I have two people, I don't remember who they are. And maybe they were in there a couple times. So you can merge contacts and remove duplicates. So the way you do that is you go to your contacts and then click all contacts you don't want to. If you've divvied them up into different lists, you want to be in all contacts to do this. And if you have duplicates, it's going to say it right there.

[00:06:15] View duplicates and it'll tell you how many there are. And you can either merge all of them or merge specific ones, and then it'll say duplicates resolved, right? That's how easy it is. But it will drive you crazy. I know it drives. It used to drive me crazy because somebody would be in there as Jim and. And maybe it was still from this, uh, this area code. And so I had two different just Jim and so, so, uh, I had to go and add information when I found out it was the right Jim and, you know, so stuff like that. And sometimes I had Jim in and got two different numbers and two different records in my contacts, and I don't know which one's the cell phone, which one's the home phone. And there might be a third one for work. I mean, so so this way it merged them all. And Jim is just in there once, and then, uh, I could go and figure out the numbers and not have three different records for that guy. So. So anyway, that's merging contacts. So I highly encourage you go to screwthecommute.com/training them and then search on the page for phone, just the word phone, and you'll come up with all the episodes that have all these. And I don't think I've duplicated any of these tips in any of the episodes. So you can you'll just be lightning fast on your cell phone so you have more time to to watch TikTok videos.

[00:07:48] All right. So get your work done faster. You can you can scroll faster on the crap that's worthless. So so anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Hey, check out my school I am. It's the only licensed, dedicated internet and digital marketing school in the country, probably the world. And I got to tell you, there's a rising tide. I mean, I guess I was in the front of this years and years ago when I started the school. But there's a rising tide against four year colleges that are just ripping students off, putting them in debt and giving them no usable skills. Well, I'm totally against that. Always have been. This school gives you a highly in-demand skill and as little as six months, and we've had people making thousands of dollars a month before they even graduated. And that's not hyperbole either. That's that's easily doable if you get into school. So email me at Tom@IMTCVA.org if you want to discuss it. There's no machine gun nest high pressure. We'll just tell you what you could be doing, how much it will cost you, what you'll learn and all that stuff. Plus, once you graduate, you get a guaranteed paid internship with me and my organization. All right, that's my story. I'm sticking to it. Check everything out at IMTCVA.org and check out the website for more phone tips and hundreds of other business tips. All right, catch you on the next episode. See you later.
