Episode 880 – YouTube Hack End Fast
[00:00:08] Welcome to Screw the Commute. The entrepreneurial podcast dedicated to getting you out of the car and into the money, with your host, lifelong entrepreneur and multimillionaire, Tom Antion.

[00:00:24] Hey everybody! It's Tom here with episode 880 of Screw the Commute podcast. Today, I'm going to give you another YouTube hack that could pay off like really, really fast. Just a slight change in the way you do your videos can really, really help you with the YouTube algorithm. All right. And we'll get to that in a minute. All right. I hope you didn't miss episode 879. That's where I showed you how I made my portable sound booth. So you can get your sound quality up really, really high if you want to do audio books or things like that. That was 879. Any time you want to get to a back episode, you go to screwthecommute.com, slash, and then the episode number Portable Sound Booth was eight, seven, nine. And hey, if you like our training videos, you know, we've got probably oh geez, getting close to 450 500. I can't even remember training videos. So you can just go to screwthecommute.com/training and take your pick. I mean, I cover enormous amounts of ground there, so check that out and also grab a copy of our automation e-book at screwthecommute.com/automatefree.

[00:01:33] All right, here we go. I'm sure that you have seen everybody that's listening to this that's been around any as it's not like in diapers okay. Has seen thousands of YouTube videos where they end something like this. Well, hey, if you really like what you heard today and if it really helped you, uh, please subscribe and hit that like button, because the algorithm will help show this to more people and you'll be helping out the channel.

[00:02:09] And maybe you want to check our Patreon thing out and, you know, that kind of thing these long, what we call outros. Well, that is hurting you. You can. If you need that information in there, speed it up and get it in the middle. Or, you know, real quick at the beginning, something like that. And I want to tell you why droning on at the end of your content is really, really hurting your videos. See, the thing is, when people realize that the content is over. They virtually always click off. Boom. Gone. And so this hurts what you we call your retention rate. And also another thing called your percentage of watch time. So if you had a five minute video and the last minute was saying all that kind of subscribe like algorithm stuff, then your percentage of watch time goes way down. I think it would be maybe 80%. But if you had an, uh, a video that you spent 10s on that or you just didn't, you did it earlier. People don't even know that it's time to click off, and they end up watching 100% of your video. I can't tell you how much this will impress the YouTube algorithm to show your video to more people, because 100% of watch time means that video must have been really, really good.

[00:03:57] And so they'll show it to more people. They put it up higher in the results, show it to more, uh, related videos. When somebody else's videos playing say so, cut it off quick. And it's not the only reason you should cut it off. This is another really big thing. If you have taken the time to create what we call end screens, where you show, hey, this. When you're done with this video, you should watch this video and this other one, and here's another one that's related to this one. And you know that stuff, that stuff is great. But here's the problem. That stuff usually shows up. I think it's 20s before the end of the video. And so if 40s before the end of the video, you start going into this, please subscribe and like and people click off before they get to the end screen related videos of yours and they never get a click through. Well, this click through from your end screen videos is sending a massive message to Google, who owns YouTube that wow, your video was so great, people wanted to watch another one from you. And if they never get to even see those related videos because you bored them to death with a long outro, then you're sending the message to Google, hey people, back out of Joe's videos or Sally's videos because it must be boring and they never get any click through on the end screen.

[00:05:41] Videos that refer to their other videos say so. Those two things are what's really hurting you. The percentage of watch time and the retention rate, and the fact that nobody gets to your end screens because you bored them to death. And they clicked out as soon as the content was over. So what do you do about this? Like I said earlier, you squeeze some in in the middle of the video or in the beginning, but then you abruptly end the video. Boom. Done. They don't even know what's coming. All right, so I do this a lot on these podcasts. It's like for this one. Okay. Uh, check out my mentor program. Goodbye. Boom. All right. So so that's what we're talking about here. And this is a massive hack that can sometimes three, four, five, ten times the, uh, response to your videos. If you end them abruptly and you don't, uh, you make sure you put an end screen on with your related videos, don't bore the people to death and do quick endings. Now, if you had an hour long training video. Well, okay. If they watched all the way to an hour long, they might watch a much longer outro. But for most of our short videos, you are killing yourself by doing long outros. So there you go. There's my story and I'm sticking to it. Check greatinternetmarketingtraining.com. I'm abruptly out. Bye.
