o To enable/disable:
Settings ? Accessibility ? Touch ? Shake to Undo
o Useful for quick corrections, but can be annoying if triggered accidentally.

o Add it through:
Settings ? Control Center ? Hearing (ear icon)
o Once enabled, activate from Control Center after connecting AirPods.
o Use ethically — could be illegal to use for eavesdropping in some states.
o Can also help people with hearing loss hear conversations more clearly.
3. Pin Important Contacts
o Lets you pin up to 9 frequent contacts at the top of your Messages app.
o To pin: long-press a message (not the contact name) ? tap “Pin.”
4. Cut Out an Image Subject
o In Photos, tap and hold on a subject (like a person or dog) to automatically remove the background.
o You can copy or share the isolated subject instantly — useful for stickers or quick edits.
o Works best when the subject clearly stands out from the background.

[00:00:24] Hey everybody, it's Tom here with episode 1049 of Screw the Commute podcast. Today we're going to give you more phone tips. And keep in mind I'm on iPhone. But a lot of these things you could do if you just figure it out. If you're on an Android, you can do about the same thing. And I'm not on Android, so I can't give you the instructions. All right, let's see. Hope you didn't miss episode 1048. That was discount phone service services. Pros and cons. Is this right for your business? Can you save a lot of money? Well, we explore that on episode 1048. Anytime you want to get to a back episode, you go to screwthecommute.com, slash, then the episode number. That was 1048 for discount phone services. [00:01:25] All right, so I've got three quick tips for you today. And one of them, I don't know, could get you thrown in jail or beat up. I don't I don't know. Or you might want to beat somebody up when you use this one tip.

[00:01:38] So first one is called shake to undo. This is where you can uh, if you type something, you don't like it, you can shake your phone and erase it. Now, some people like that, some people don't like that. So I'm going to show you how to turn it on and off. So you go to settings, then accessibility then touch. And then there's a toggle switch shake to undo. So if you don't want that feature, if you don't like it or if it keeps erasing stuff accidentally because you're, you know, you're bouncing around with the phone. Turn it off. But if you like that, save some time. Turn it on. Let's shake to undo. All right. This next one is the one that could get you beat up or thrown in jail. Or you might want to beat somebody else up. All right. It's called Live Listen. And this is where if you have AirPods or certain headphones, you can make your cell phone the microphone, and it'll transmit whatever it hears to your headphones or your AirPods for as far as your Bluetooth will last. So you could leave your phone in somewhere and go into the next room and then see what everybody says behind your back. Right. So so that's where either you might want to beat them up or I don't know if that's illegal or not.

[00:03:07] It's not through. It's not through the phone lines. You know, certain states are two party states where both people have to know the things being recorded. I don't know about that. But anyway, so you go into your control panel where on iPhone you swipe from top right to bottom left and it may not be there. So you say, well, what do I do now? You need to go in to your control panel and add this particular app. So you go to settings and then control panel. And then it's called hearing. And it looks like a little ear. And so you add it to your control panel there. Then you go back to your control panel. Now when you click on it in your control panel you get a menu. But Live Listen will be grayed out unless you have paired your iPod or those certain headphones. You know it has to be compatible with your phone. So if it's grayed out, you go and you go ahead and get your AirPods out and you let them. You know, usually they'll connect automatically. And then if you close your control panel and open it back up, you should. And then click on the little ear. Then Live Listen should be available. And then when you click on it, then your iPhone turns into a microphone and is broadcasting to your AirPods or your headphones.

[00:04:43] So uh, and do with that what you may. Okay. Some people do it because they're maybe they're hearing starting to go a little bit. Actually I think there's compatible I think it's called MCI hearing aids that can work with your iPhone. It can enhance, you know, because sometimes you're going around and if your hearing's going a little bit, I know my left ear took a real beating from, uh, when I was a kid, I had a lot of ear infections. And then I had a nightclub with very high decibel levels. So a little bit in my left ear, I'm like, huh huh what? And so this can help with that kind of stuff. Okay, so let's see. Uh, the last tip I'll give you is how to pin important contacts to the top of your messaging app. Your texting app. Basically, what you do is you go to a usually you want to put people up there where you talk to them all the time or text them all the time. And so you go to one of their messages. Do not click on their contact icon. You know their name. Just go to one of their messages and hold on long. Press it, hold on to it, and then you'll get a little pop up box that tells you things you can do with it.

[00:06:03] One of them is going to say pin. And so this isn't the last one I have. One more I'm going to give you after this I forgot pin and then that one is going to show up at the top. So it's handy all the time. If you text somebody a lot and it'll hold up to nine people up there. So that's pinning important contacts to the top long press one of their messages. Tap pin, and then it's right at the top. All right. The last one is how to cut an image out of a picture. And then you can do all kinds of stuff with it. You can make a sticker out of it, or you can text it to somebody just without the background. So to do this, first of all, the picture needs to have a subject that is obvious. It can't be something that's blended into the background already, and you can't really see a good solid subject. So you pick one of those. So you go to your photos app, you pick one of those photos and select it, and then you tap on the subject that you want to cut to be cut out and hold it briefly and then release it.

[00:07:10] And it should outline in silver. And then you can either copy or share it immediately. So I copied it and I texted it to somebody a picture of a dog, you know. So it got rid of the entire background. Now there's other things we'll talk about in other episodes where you, uh, you want to do something with the background and not really take the subject out of the background. So those kinds of things. All right. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Check out my mentor program. Greatinternetmarketingtraining.com and my school with IMTCVA.org. It's the only licensed dedicated internet and digital marketing school in the country, probably the world. And it's high quality distance learning certified to operate by the State Council and higher education in Virginia. Three years of hell to get the license for this. So it's totally legit. And we keep our curriculum updated. And you can be making money in a very short period of time with an in-demand skill, as opposed to going for years and and being in debt the rest of your life. In fact, I saw this 90 year old comedian in one of his jokes was, well, hey, I just paid off my student loans. So there you go. All right, we'll catch you on the next episode. See you later.
