Episode 1040 – Shy Marketers
[00:00:08] Welcome to Screw the Commute. The entrepreneurial podcast dedicated to getting you out of the car and into the money, with your host, lifelong entrepreneur and multimillionaire, Tom Antion.

[00:00:24] Hey everybody! It's Tom here with episode 1040 of Screw the commute podcast. Today we're talking to you shy marketers out there, and many of you are better than a lot of the loudmouth marketers. But you loudmouth marketers like me are going to learn something to increase your market share. So that's what this is all about. 1040. Let's see. Episode 1039. I hope you didn't miss that. That was on a bunch of new YouTube features that are going to really, really help you out on live streams and get a lot more people and a lot more engagement and a lot more money. Let's see. Pick up a copy of my automation book at screwthecommute.com/automatefree. Get version 3.0 because it's the latest version. And check out my mentor program at GreatInternetMarketingTraining.com and my school at IMTCVA.org, certified to operate by SCHEV.

[00:01:27] All right, well, how do I get this idea since I'm a loudmouth marketer? Well, my girlfriend was talking to me about this, and, I mean, she's brilliant and she's creative. I mean, she's a jewelry designer and fashion kind of person, and she can sit down and draw out a new necklace or bracelet or whatever and never do the same design twice. I mean, just sit there all day, right? So but she's not a big loudmouth marketer. She's very quiet and very sensitive. Now you loudness out there need to put some of this calm marketing in your mix to help increase your market share. I'll give you an example.

[00:02:15] So my girlfriend listens to Doctor Axe. She's a real health person. I mean, that's what Doctor Axe is a guy. But my girlfriend is really health conscious and he puts out helpful information and he's empathetic and he's speaking truth and he's transparent and he knows what he's talking about. It corroborates a lot of things she knew, but a lot of the mainstream doesn't. And so she would buy anything this guy puts out or anything. And she listens to other people on health all the time, but they're yeah, a lot of them are always manipulating you to, you know, and Making you buy their stuff. And I totally get that. That's what loudmouth marketers do. But he's doing what everybody says that marketers that serve sharp and sensitive markets should do. He's empathetic. He's got very authentic messaging. He speaks truth. He's transparent and concentrates on values. And so sensitive people love this. So a lot of you shy marketers out there probably already have those traits of empathy and authentic messaging and truth and transparency and values. But you still have to get those in front of people. And a lot of folks that are in that, that are shy marketers think, I just need to go get a job. I'm not cut out for this marketing stuff. Well, let's stop and think about this. I hate to see all your your great. Expertise and your abilities be beaten out by loudmouthed marketers. That may not even be a 10th as good as you at what you do.

[00:04:12] Let me just give you some ideas on what you could do. And you loudmouthed people, what you probably should do to increase your market share, because you turn off a lot of sensitive listeners because you're just too in their face all the time. You could do writing. All right, so that means blog posts. That means books, e-books, printed books, articles. Those are ways your face is not being shown. Audiobooks. People love them because a lot of people travel and want something to listen to. And they're driving. They can't be watching videos. So audio books or your audio information can be out there. And then of course, podcasts are going like crazy. We're at episode, you know, 1040 episodes. That doesn't count. A lot of our youth episodes and other things. So. So podcasts are going crazy and many are just audio. You can do audio podcasts of your own, or do an audio podcast of your own, or just go on audio podcast. And so that's a great marketing method for shy folks, because you don't have to be seen. You don't have to have a good hair day. You know, you don't have to worry about what you look like. You can have your notes all in front of you in case you get discombobulated. So that's a good thing. However, video is very, very powerful. So if you can overcome the the worry of being too shy on video, that can be very powerful for you too. Now there is a part of video called Faceless Video where you can nowadays with AI create avatars and and and just do overdubs, you know, voiceovers instead of being seen on camera.

[00:06:06] But I got to tell you, you being seen on camera no matter what you look like, who you are. People just connect with you better. So that's the most powerful. And I'm not saying you have to do it. I'm just saying that it's very powerful. If you can get over that hump, just practice with little short stuff. You don't have to show anybody, you know, you could do it yourself to get started. So you shy marketers out there, don't despair. You can still be entrepreneurs. You can still screw the commute, but you're going after usually a different audience that cares about those kinds of things. And so maybe you don't hit a big home runs and capture tons. All the audience, the people that like the loudmouth and the BS type marketers so you don't get them. So what, you can still have a great and highly Profitable business with people that are sensitive out there that are largely ignored. You'll probably get a great market share by just taking those that that bent to to get in front of them and just being yourself. That's a great marketing tactic right there. But we always tease with some of the jerks. Don't be yourself. People don't like you. But but for most of you shy folks out there, you're probably pretty nice people and you just need to get in front of other nice people so you can have your nice business and screw that commute.

[00:07:36] Stay home with your family. Do the things you like. That's what I've been preaching for 157.2 years. And and I'm all for you out there. So. So check it out and check out my mentor program. And that's one thing nice about it. It's customized. It's one on one. So you're not lumped in with people more advanced or less advanced or more boisterous or less boisterous. Boisterous. It's one on one wherever you're at. That's how I treat you, see. And my whole staff is available for you one on one, so you don't have to be embarrassed in front of anybody. We work with you and help you move all these things forward. So check it out at GreatInternetMarketingTraining.com. And also you can take my school if you want really in-depth or if you have kids that you want to get in this and save yourself a couple hundred grand by sending them to a four year college where they're just going to get indoctrinated and learn how to protest. So check it out at IMTCVA.org and if you're in my mentor program, you get a scholarship to the school. So you get a double whammy because I'm all about small business and helping people get great skills in this digital world. All right. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. We'll catch you on the next episode. See you later.
