"Now is the time to stand up for the right to self-defense of the little guy against the impersonal power of some corporations," says John M. Snyder, named the Gun Dean by Human Events.

He says a case in point involves pharmacist Jeremy Hoven, who used his handgun, for which he had a state issued permit to carry a concealed firearm, to defend himself, others and a Walgreens pharmacy near Grand Rapids, Michigan from a 4:30 a.m. robbery attempt by two armed thugs in May.

When Hoven shot in the direction of the robbers, they fled. No one was hurt, according to reports. Walgreens fired Hoven for violating its "non-escalation" policy. Hoven has filed suit against Walgreens.

Snyder (www.GunRightsPolicies.org) thinks the Walgreens policy is ridiculous, even asinine. "It violates the right to self-defense and the right to life of the innocent."

He says people could contact Walgreens and demand that it rescind its policy and substitute one that respects the rights of its employees and its customers. Citizens could contact Alan G. McNally, Chairman, Walgreens, 200 Wilmot Road, Deerfield IL 60015. Phone: (847) 914-2500.

"It's time to stand up for truth, justice, freedom, and common sense," says gun law expert Snyder.
