We invest in many things in our lives – homes, vehicles, education. And Warren Buffett notwithstanding, the investments with the highest possible long-term returns are the investments we make in ourselves. In a world still turning upside down with new uncertainties and changes showing every day, one of the best ways we can invest in ourselves and our futures is to start improving our mental fitness.
The circumstances of the last two years have added stress, worry, anxiety, and exhaustion to the lives of many. It is hard to argue that all the unforeseen events took a toll on our mental health. But as the mental health of so many was suffering, something unexpected happened. Challenges with mental health became less stigmatized. It became ok to talk about those challenges – and that was a step toward improving it.
Late last Fall, we looked into the future of work and the workplace. We knew that mental health would be a concern, and we wanted to help. While the world talks more openly and less judgmentally about mental health, we have framed how we can help as improving mental fitness. I shot a video about the case for mental fitness and written about it here and here.
And while we wanted to give you tools for improving your mental fitness, we knew we couldn’t do it alone. That is why we have created the Fostering Our Mental Fitness virtual event on April 13, 2022. I will talk with seven experts to help you understand the challenges you might be facing. More importantly, we’ll give you specific tools, a relevant plan, and increased hope for improving your mental fitness.
Here is a sample of what you will learn….
- Tips for how to lead in ways to increase productivity and decrease stress with Jody Michael.
- Reducing isolation and loneliness with Ryan Jenkins and Steven Van Cohen.
- Getting unstuck in our thinking and finding greater meaning in our work with Beverly Jones.
- Breaking free from burnout with Nataly Kogan.
- Improving our mental fitness by understanding how our brains work with Heidi Hanna.
It is a powerhouse lineup, and they are all joining us to help you improve your mental health! You can attend this virtual event live with our compliments. If you are going to miss any of the sessions or other commitments will get in your way, you can have lifetime access to all the sessions, ideas, tips, tools, and inspiration for a nominal investment.
But you get more than the speakers and their ideas. You can ask your questions and share in the conversation on our powerful and engaging platform. We are calling this a Virtual LeaderCon Experience, because we are using the same tools and platforms we have used for the past two years during our acclaimed and highly interactive – and fun – weeklong Virtual LeaderCon events.
We cannot be at our best for our teams, our families, or ourselves if our mental health is compromised. That’s why we want to support you and your colleagues by proactively improving your mental fitness.
I urge you to join us on April 13 for Fostering Our Mental Health!
