Gift #1: The San Francisco Writers Conference is offering recordings taken from its SFWC Teleseminar Series at no charge. Topics range from 'How to Write Compelling Narrative" to "Book Promotion on a Shoestring". Four of the best teleseminars are now available to download. The recordings are MP3 files that can be played on computers with media player programs (such as Windows Media Player or iTunes) or on portable media players (such as iPods).
There is no charge to listen in to the monthly live teleseminars in the SFWC Teleseminar Series*, either. Writers can go to www.SFWriters.info to download the recordings and sign up for the free SFWC newsletter where upcoming live teleseminars will be announced.

The four teleseminars now available for downloading are designed to give a sampling of the 2009 San Francisco Writers Conference event, its presenters and topics. Here is a quick description of each:
• Alan Rinzler told listeners why he feels NOW is the best time ever to be a writer. Rinzler is executive editor at Jossey-Bass/Wiley and former associate publisher and vice president of Rolling Stone. He has worked with fascinating and influential authors including Toni Morrison, Hunter Thompson, Clive Cussler, Bob Dylan and Shirley McLaine.
• Chris Soth explained how a writer can write compelling narrative by using his 'Mini-Movie' concept. Use it and your book will be a 'page turner'. As a bonus, it will also be easy to adapt to the big screen…and what author doesn't dream of that!
• Britt Bravo and Kevin Smokler teamed up and proved they are experts in using the Internet and other kinds of technology to reach a book-loving audience. Kevin, author of Bookmark Now! Writing in Unreaderly Times, is the founder of Virtual Book Tour. Britt produces Big Vision Podcast and lectures on socially responsible businesses and artists.
• Jill Lublin shared hundreds of brilliant ideas on building a platform as an author—and urged writers to get started even before their book is completed! Lublin is a 'PR Strategist' and the author of Guerilla Publicity and Get Noticed...Get Referrals.
In addition to the featured speakers, each teleseminar is hosted by either Michael Larsen or Elizabeth Pomada. Michael is author of How to Get a Literary Agent and How to Write a Book Proposal. Elizabeth has authored several books including the Painted Ladies series. Together they are the literary agent team behind Larsen Pomada Literary Agents and the founders of the San Francisco Writers Conference.
