contact@inspireabook.com Tel: 1-250-483-5791 Transforming Yourself from Writer to Author – San Francisco writers conference San Francisco, CA/Victoria B.C.)… Author Julie Salisbury joins bestselling Authors and keynoters Mike Farrell ("Just Call Me Mike: A Journey to Actor and Activist") and Gay Hendricks ("Conscious Living") at the second San Francisco Writing for Change Conference, Saturday and Sunday, August 16 and 17, at the Hotel Kabuki. Her presentation "Transforming Yourself from Writer to Author" with Shera Sever, Director of Leading Visions to Action, inspires writers to take control of the destiny of their own book and self-publish. Salisbury wants to inspire potential first time authors to make 2008 the year they publish their book. "We all have a book inside us" claims Salisbury. She has made it her life's purpose to inspire writers to become authors. "There are many workshops and writing coaches that help improve writing skills, but none that inspire, motivate, and help organize that writing into a book ready for publishing" says Salisbury, "the key is to escape the everyday distractions of life to really focus and gain the confidence to produce a book good enough to self-publish. Most of my writers are well on their way within a few weeks once they know how to organize all their writing into a professional looking book, and my InspireABook™ binder provides a template for them to follow" Salisbury is planning a series of workshops in the San Francisco area, partnering with Sheryl Sever. Salisbury believes in holding her workshops in creative places "I take my authors to creative places to write, combining a vacation destination with a writers workshop" For many, this workshop can even be written off as a business expense and you'll come away with all the tools you need to turn your writing into a book and how to market and promote it." says Salisbury. Details of the San Francisco venues will be launched at the conference, but expect hot springs rather than classrooms. Salisbury is planning a series of winter writer's retreats and launches with a 10 day "InspireABook™" workshop in Peru August 31st to September 9th. The Peruvian Shaman, Washington Gibaja Tapia will be the Shaman guide for the writers group leading them on sacred journeys through Inca ruins, Machu Picchu and the sacred Valley, as well as giving the writers a hands on, grass roots experience of volunteering with the children of the Andean villages of Willoc and Patacancha. There is still space on the writers retreat and more information can be found at www.inspireabook.com/retreats. About InspireAbook founder Julie Ann Salisbury After trading in her marketing career in the UK for a backpack, Julie spent 7 years chasing her dreams and searching for her passion and purpose in life. Her adventures took her around the world and during her travels she was vigilant at sending letters home to her grandmother every 2 weeks. Upon Julie's return, her grandmother handed back the stack of letters and strongly encouraged her to write a book. This was Julie's motivation and after 2 years of writing and struggling through the process, "A Seven Year Journey around the World – discovering my passion and purpose" was published. Julie has now made it her life's work to help other first time authors publish their books and developed the InspireABook™ program to guide first-time authors through the maze of writing, organizing, editing and marketing. She has been featured in the International Press (Daily Mail UK), British, Canadian and Satellite TV and is a popular guest on radio talk shows. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ About Sheryl Shera, Director of Leading Visions to Action.
