Colorado Springs, CO – April 17, 2008 – Samplings of the Nation's best pizza stem from Colorado Springs. Rob Raia, owner of Borriello Brothers NY Pizza was designated as one of only 70 American pizzerias to compete in The International Pizza Challenge™, a traditional pizza-making contest. The contest was held in Las Vegas, NV during the International Pizza Expo®, the world's largest and oldest pizza tradeshow.

The 70 entries were accepted with the following stipulations. A red sauce must be used on your signature dough with your favorite cheese/cheese blend and your favorite spices. Criteria for this world class ranking were crust, sauce, cheese, toppings and sensual presentation. Contestants brought all the ingredients needed to make their best traditional pizza for independent panels of judges. Raia featured Borriello Brothers' New York 18" hand tossed pizza, with pepperoni and sliced Italian sausage. Raia remarks," We have a very traditional New York style pizza. I know when we put it on the table for the crowd to try it was a big hit with many complements"

Borriello Brothers NY Pizza has 3 units in the Colorado Springs area and is targeting the summer of 2008 for their fourth opening. They feature dine in, take-out and delivery. Complementing their pizza are salads, subs, dinners and desserts.
