Thursday, July 29, 2010
The Hearing Haven in Houston and the SEGR Marketing company have become the first two platinum sponsors for the National Hispanic Council of Aging annual event in Humble, Texas. These companies hope other companies will follow suit to show these wonderful charities that even during an economic recession, the community comes together for a good cause!
Our desire at Hearing Haven is to restore people's hearing so as to minimize the effects in people's lives that are caused hearing loss. About one-third of Americans between 65-74 have hearing loss. Hearing loss can affect your life in many ways. You may miss out on talks with friends and family. On the telephone, you may find it hard to hear what the caller is saying. At the doctor's office, you may not catch the doctor's words. Sometimes hearing problems can make you feel embarrassed, upset, and lonely. It's easy to withdraw when you can't follow a conversation at the dinner table or in a restaurant. It's also easy for friends and family to think you are confused, uncaring, or difficult, when the problem may be that you just can't hear well. Hearing Haven has made it its mission to help as many people received the gift of hearing as possible. Our offices in Dallas and Houston schedule free hearing testing for those in need to restore their hearing. Many people on Medicaid are not aware you can still get high quality hearing aids while on the Medicaid program. There is even a state program that they can qualify for to receive an amplified phone to make it easier for them to hear people on the phone. If you or someone you know has hearing loss give the gift of hearing and call 972-394-4370. www.hearinghaven.com Bob Bare
