Do you feel you have almost everything you need to succeed

but that just one piece of the puzzle is missing?

Top Notch Presentation Skills

Lanham, Maryland – July, 2009

Toastmasters—a nonprofit, global educational organization—enables its members to practice public speaking in a relaxed and comfortable setting. At Toastmasters, you learn with others who are there for the same reason you are—to become better communicators and leaders

Although its members are mainly known for their public speaking expertise, many other important skills are gained by participating in the organization. How to be an effective listener, giving positive feedback and running an effective meeting are all practiced regularly at our meetings.

Toastmasters is more than just a public speaking group, its Parliament Speakers Club achieved the level of "Select Distinguished" at last month's Distinguished Club Program, which is an annual program within Toastmasters International that runs from July 1 through June 30. The Parliament Speakers Club met seven of the ten goals set by the Distinguished Club Program, which included increasing its membership and training for its club officers, plus the following awards:

Distinguished Speaking Awards for 2009

Competent Communicator Award: Randy Bryan and Mark N. Lewellen

Advanced Communicator Bronze Award: Fred Shaw and Mark N. Lewellen

Competent Leader Award: Melissa Riley

Beginning speakers and experienced professionals alike can benefit from our practical, face-to-face program. So, whether you're speaking to the board of directors, your customers or co-workers, or your kids; Toastmasters can help you do it better, and for less. So check out our websites. New members are always welcome.

Parliament Speakers is located near Rte. 50, the Washington DC Beltway and Martin Luther King Blvd. The club meets at noon, on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month, at:

Pitney Bowes/Group 1 Software Building
