Celebrate Valentine's Day
Charleston, SC
Wednesday, February 04, 2009
The image of the Boise State football hero rushing to the sidelines after his team's overtime victory in the Fiesta Bowl and proposing marriage to his sweetheart cheerleader who enthusiastically accepts and throws herself into his arms on national television stirs our romantic ardor and catapults us at least momentarily out of the mundane and into the arena of swashbuckling romantic heroes. Here's your chance. Valentine's Day is fast approaching and you need not be left behind.
Valentine's Day is for everyone; lovers, want to be lovers, use to be lovers and even old grouches. Everyone can use a pinch of romance even in the dead of winter. Your exploits may not be caught on national television but so what. Here are ten reasons to celebrate even if you are not currently in a sizzling romance. Join the fun. 1. You won't feel left out. 2. You will have fun thinking of thoughtful things to do for others. 3. You won't feel out of place saying nice things to people. 4. You can encourage someone. 5. You can make someone feel good about him or herself. 6. You can make someone feel as if he or she belongs. 7. You can bring a smile to someone's face. 8. You can create a friendly atmosphere around you. 9. You can send nice notes and cards to people. 10. You can join in a universal song.
