The Organization and Team Culture Indicator (OTCI) is a testing instrument which measures an organization's culture in respect to its brand and employee identities. In fact, the success, or ultimate failure, of your company rests in the hands of your employees.
What the OTCI does, through employee assessment, is develop a measurement of the organizational culture of your company in expressions of archetypes. CAPT (Center for Applications of Psychological Type), the developer of OTCI, defines archetypes as "the organization's stories, symbols, patterns, and themes". They go on to say that "archetypes touch us at an unconscious, instinctual level and exert profound influence on our motivations and actions"
Each employee, from the very top to the very bottom, is assessed and placed into one of the OTCI's twelve archetypal patterns (Ruler, Innocent, Hero, Everyperson, Explorer, Caregiver, Lover, Revolutionary, Creator, Magician, Sage, and Jester). In this assessment, topics such as job satisfaction, absenteeism, grievances, safety, benefits, pay scale and even the company's mission statement are discussed. The result is a "roadmap to a three-way alignment of employee beliefs, company identity, and organizational strengths—on the way to new horizons and unprecedented success".
What this means is that, essentially, through assessing your employees, you can better understand the culture of your company. Better understanding of the company's culture can lead to a more effective brand development or management.
