Youth motivational speaker Omekongo Dibinga will be performing and conducting breakout sessions on leadership and conflict minerals in the Congo at the
Global Issues Network Conference at George Washington University. This conference is an annual collaboration among public, independent, charter, and parochial schools. Omekongo will be sharing poetry dealing with global issues and conducting two breakout sessions.
The first session will look at how students can become better, more engaged leaders, based on the principles in his book "
The UPstander's Guide to an Outstanding Life." The second breakout session will look at how students can help stop the spread of
conlifct minerals into their electronics products such as mobile phones and video game consoles.
