While it is easy to think that the personality actually is who we are, it keeps us on the surface of life. And living on the surface is, well, where most of our struggles live…. Our emotional reactions that we may try to justify or maybe later regret. Our over-doing in some area of our life—perhaps by over-giving, being in overdrive to constantly achieve, constantly striving to experience something new. We can even over-withdraw from others. These are just examples of what the personality pursues because it feels familiar and right.

What might it feel like to just drop down into the breath, drop into what is underneath that familiar activity that is a direct expression of your personality?
