Smartphone ownership in the United States is looking more and more like
television ownership — there are almost as many smartphones in the U.S. as there are adults! According to Consumer Technology Association (CTA)
research, there are 211 million smartphones in the country, owned by 74 percent of households.
Households that own smartphones now have multiple smartphones per house – an average of 2.4. And 91 percent of smartphone-owning households plan on making a repeat purchase in the near future (who can blame them with the shiny, new devices that come out each year and carrier incentives that enable faster upgrades).
