"This is for anyone who feels like the odds are stacked too high, who believes that survival and success can't coexist. It's proof that, even in the harshest conditions, a meaningful and fulfilled life can still be built."
Deeply personal and unflinching, All Is Well is the memoir of Matin Miryeganeh (Mah-TEEN Meer-yeh-GAH-neh), a senior research scientist who has survived immense trauma—not only in the world outside, but also within the walls of her own home. After losing her mother, grandparents, and other close family members in quick succession in addition to a complex and sometimes volatile relationship with her father, a young Matin was left emotionally neglected and profoundly alone in her own household. With no one to turn to, she buried herself in books, studying with quiet determination to create a future no one else believed in. She moved from Iran to Japan in hope of a fresh start and to further her education, but the challenges didn't end there. In adulthood, Matin endured sexual violence, institutional betrayal, and the crushing aftermath of being unheard and unsupported. All Is Well traces her journey through these compounding traumas—and her decision, time and again, to keep going.
"Despite facing immense adversity, she found strength in her determination and perseverance and has emerged with a story of resilience that continues to inspire."—John Kelly, Detroit Free Press
"The phrase 'all is well' became an anchor for me during some of the hardest times in my life," Matin says. "It was often offered to me by someone dear to me—a quiet reminder that even in the midst of chaos and pain, something steady could remain. Over time, those three words came to mean more than comfort; they became a belief I held onto when nothing else felt certain. Choosing it as the title of this book is my way of honoring that inner truth—not because life was easy, but because I kept going. And in the end, somehow, all really is well."
"Not only is Matin Miryeganeh contributing to the scientific world, she is also implementing our understanding of the psychology of trauma and survival, and how to rise above and heal."—Grady Harp, Amazon Top 100 Hall of Fame Reviewer
Told with emotional clarity and striking honesty, All Is Well is not a story of easy redemption, but of raw endurance. It's about reclaiming your life when no one is coming to save you—and choosing to believe in your worth even when the world refuses to see it. For anyone who has ever felt invisible or alone, this book offers solidarity, strength, and hope.
"Dr. Miryeganeh's memoir about growing up in a turbulent family and her fight to obtain a life of her own, stands as a testament to the resilience and inner strength of individuals."—Kathryn Picard, Librarian Book Connoisseur
