StickerGiant.com has announced important information for customers concerning vinyl-cut decals and applying them to the intended surface. Vinyl-cut decals are very popular items, particularly for use on vehicle windows, as well as in many other applications. They can be used for numerous purposes, from promotion to self-expression.

Vinyl-cut decals can be either single cut or double cut, and can use more than one color (ink color and vinyl color combination). Creating two color decals is more complex than single color decals, but the results are superior, offering better visibility and greater depth to the image. They stand out against the intended background far better than other options.

To make vinyl-cut decals, the design must first be cut out of vinyl. After this, the excess vinyl is removed, in a process called weeding. This removes any extraneous vinyl from the piece, leaving behind the text and images that will make up the actual decal. Once the weeding process is finished, a masking material must be applied. This material is used to protected the design before installing it, but it also helps to make placing the decal on the surface that much simpler.

Once the masking material has been applied, the decal can be placed on the chosen surface. However, prior to application, ensure that the area where the decal will be placed is clean and dry. This ensures that the decal adheres properly, and helps alleviate the chance of mishaps, peeling and dirt and debris trapped beneath the decal.

Once the area has been thoroughly cleaned, the decal must be lined up and leveled. Use moderate force to rub the decal as it is applied to the surface. Finally, simply peel the backing from the design very slowly, to ensure that the letters and artwork remain adhered to the surface. The decal is now in place and will look great.
