Remembering former Southeast Massachusetts Branch 18 President Armond Santos, Jr.

NALC is deeply saddened to learn that Armond Santos, Jr. died on Jan. 13. He was 91.

Brother Santos was an NALC member for 66 years. He started his letter carrier career in 1958 and carried mail for 29 years until he retired in 1987.

Throughout his career and retirement, Armond was active in Southeast Massachusetts Branch 18 and Region 14. He formerly served as Branch 18’s president and held several positions in Region 14’s office.

“For more than 60 years, Brother Santos was an effective and influential leader in Branch 18 and Region 14,” NALC President Brian L. Renfroe said. “He tirelessly fought for letter carriers. His impact and legacy will live on, and he will be greatly missed in his branch and region. On behalf of NALC, I appreciate Armond’s decades of service and send my deepest sympathies to his family, friends and colleagues.”
